Funeral for Ruth Carroll Wheeler, 82, of Decatur will be today, April 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Chapel with Dr. John Rutland officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Wheeler, who died Thursday, April 26, 2012, at Huntsville Hospital, was born April 26, 1930, in Rutherford, N.C., to Claude Elmore and Anna Lee Hardill Elmore. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Chruch. She is preceded in death by her first husband, A.P. Carroll and second husband, Robert "Bob" Wheeler. Survivors include two sons, Larry Carroll and wife, Janet, and Barry Carroll and wife, Linda; two stepsons, Bruce Wheeler and wife, Nell, and Dale Wheeler and wife, Susan; 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
