Ruthie Dean Manley, 86, of Rogersville passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at her residence. Visitation will be from 12 - 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at Elkins East Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Tom Watley and Bro. Henry Melton officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek.
A member of Hatton Baptist Church, Ruthie was a devoted wife, amazing mother and grandmother, who was loving and compassionate to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Manley; parents, Arthur T. and Ruby Evans Barnes; brother, Emmett Barnes; sisters, Gladys Terry, Helen Jordan, Dorothy Hoskin, Nettie Brackin and Ora Barnes.
Ruthie is survived by her daughter, Tammi Barnes Manley; sons, Joe Jack Manley (Cathy), and Steven Gregg Manley; grandchildren, Steven Jacob "Jake" Manley, Monica Michelle Manley, and Rebekah Lauren Manley; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lucas McGee, Jake Manley, David L. Thaxton, Jr., Heath Hollis, Jared McCrary and Jarrod Flanagan.
Special appreciation is given to Hospice of Tennessee Valley and her wonderful caregiver Beth Gifford.
