Sam Parker

Samuel Eli Parker, 65, of Center Star died Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Glenwood Rehab Center.

Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2016, 6-8 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 3, 2016, 11 AM at Center Star Church of Christ, with Bro. Austin Johnson and Bro. Bill Lyons officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Cemetery.

Sam was a kind and easy going man who was loved by all who met him. He was a carpenter for most of his life. He loved to cook, work in his garden, and spend time with family and friends. He adored being PawPaw to his grandchildren.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Butris H. "Boots" Parker, Sr.

Sam is survived by his daughters, Michelle Bowers (Brian) and Ashley Bolton (Jason); son, Bradley Parker; sisters, Rose Gray (Gaylon), Dyanne Johnson (Larry), and Barbara McGee (Larry); brother, B.H. Parker (special friend Patricia Davis); grandchildren, Zachary Parker, Anna Katherine Thompson, Abby Bowers, Lexi Parker, Barkley Bolton, and Shelby Bolton; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Larry McGee, Phillip Gray, Vance Gray, Jason Johnson, Brian Bowers, and Jason Bolton. Honorary pallbearers include Gaylon Gray, Larry Johnson, and Shannon Johnson.

Special thanks to ECM 2nd Floor, Glenwood Rehab, and Gentiva Hospice for the care and compassion given to our Daddy in his last days.
