Richard Samuel "Sammy" Tidwell
Richard Samuel "Sammy" Tidwell, age 46, of Killen, passed away on Monday September 7, 2009 at ECM Hospital.
Funeral services will be on Thursday September 10, 2009 at 2 pm at Elkins East Chapel in Center Star. Thomas Holt will be officiating. Burial will follow in Cox Cemetery in Killen. The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 9, 2009 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Tidwell is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Almon and Luna Eloise Tidwell, and one brother Russell Tidwell. Sammy was a loving husband and father. His family meant everything to him and came first in his life.
Mr. Tidwell is survived by his loving wife, Mickye Tidwell of Killen; his children, Evelyn Ilene and Richard Arnold Tidwell, both of Killen; his sister, Ann Crittenden of Killen; and his brothers, Jerry Tidwell of Scottsboro, Keith Tidwell of Florence, and Shannon Tidwell of Killen.
Pallbearers will be Brad Brooks, Arnie Scott, Doyle Crittenden, Greg Crittenden, Joseph Tidwell, and Buck Tidwell.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of doctors and nurses in CCU at ECM Hospital for the special care given to Sammy.
Donations may be made to a trust fund set up in Memory of Mr. Sammy Tidwell at any Bank Independent in the Shoals area.
