Samuel Clyde "Buck" Thomas, Jr.
On November 22, 2009 our Heavenly Father called Samuel Clyde" Buck" Thomas, Jr. Home. Buck was born in Lauderdale and was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Clyde Thomas, Sr. and Beatrice "Trixie Thomas. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Jo Ann, his children, Jackie Creasey and husband Phillip of Killen, Pamela Thomas of Temple Texas, Marsha Canerday, husband Jake of Anderson, Johnnie Newton and husband Robert of Grassy, Annette Shook and husband Greg of Killen, Brandon Thomas, wife Tiffany of Lexington; sisters Imogene Sanderson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Gloria Jean Berry, of Russellville, Mary Patton of Bakersfiel, California, brothers, Ray Thomas of Denair, California, Terry Thomas of Florida, Tommy "Runt" Thomas of Florida, grandchildren, Chad McCormick, Craig McCormick, Samantha Parker, Chris Boykin, Angela Sims, Jerry Canerday, Tamra Newton, Todd Shook, Scott Shook, Teddy Boykin, Blake Newton, Pamela Shook, Chase Jones, Carrie Hodge, and 23 great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles McCormick, Danny Stafford, Gary Barringer, Oakley Smith, Ted Thompson, and Johnny Thompson. Buck was a truck driver for 35 years. He was a very talented horse trainer, and was loved by all who knew him. His special companions were Socks, Dog and Little Joe. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Wiregrass Hospice, Lisa, Sephanie, Keith Jones, Dr. Edsel Holden,Bro. Bill Llyons, Deborah Darby, Ginger Fuller,(his Two special nieces) and Danny Stafford. Visitation will be Monday night 6:00 to 9:00 at Elkins East Chapel Funeral Home, service will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Elkins East Chapel with burial in North Carolina Cemetery, with Bro. Bill Lyons and Coleman Barnett officiating.
