Mrs. Sandra Leathers Broadfoot, age 65, peacefully passed away June 27, 2010, while at her home with family and friends by her side. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elkins Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Wayne Gean officiating. Burial will follow in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 p.m. Monday. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Leathers. Sandra was a member of Beta Sigma Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha philanthropic sorority and the United Methodist Church. Sandra is survived by her husband of 45 years, Sammy Broadfoot; daughters, Shelley Wallace and husband, Jamey, and Becky Broadfoot, all of Florence; mother, Ruby Foote Leathers, Villa Rica, Ga.; grandchildren, Trinity, Kendra, Kaleb and Ashlynn; sister, Shelia Sauls (Richard); brothers, Doug Leathers (Charlotte) and Robert Leathers (Carol), all of Villa Rica, Ga. Pallbearers will be Kevin Broadfoot, Jay Broadfoot, Rick Sauls, Brian Sauls, Lance Sauls and Chad Leathers. Cousins and nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family offers special thanks to all caregivers, including relatives, friends and professionals. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
