Sandra Lynn Young, 68, of Florence died Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her residence. A memorial service will be held Sunday, June 17, 2012, at 3 PM at Elkins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3 PM, with Bro. Mike Pope officiating. Mrs. Young was a member of 1st Methodist Church of Florence. She retired from the Florence City School system after 32 years as Director of Special Education. She is survived by her husband, Ralph M. Young; two sons, Ralph M Young, Jr. (Kennen Blanning) and Robert E. Young (Rachel H.); four nieces, Shannon Edwards, Kendall Levin, Ainsley Bowen, and Ashley Brown; one nephew, Alden Edwards; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The American Cancer Society or to your favorite local charity.
