Sandy Carl Gillespie, 43, of Moulton, passed away peacefully in his mother's arms, Sunday, July 7th at Decatur Morgan Hospital from complications, after suffering a massive stroke at his home in Moulton on July 3, 2013.

Sandy Carl enjoyed hunting arrowheads, watching educational television, cooking, bargain shopping at Wal-Mart and Dollar General. He loved to talk on any subject, also, enjoyed dog sitting his mothers cocker spaniel, Maggie Mae.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louie and Gusta Melson; uncle, Hancel Melson; half sister, Tracey Lynn Welborn; grandparents, Sanders and Edna Gillespie; and uncle, Carl Gillespie.

Sandy Carl is survived by his mother, Wanda Faye Sanford; step"Dad" J. Ray Sanford Jr.; uncle, Hurshel Melson of Stockton, Calif.; two nephews and one niece; his father, Sandy Gordon Gillespie; stepmother, Paula Gillespie of Moulton and half brother, Robin D. Gillespie of Florence; one nephew and one niece and his beloved cat, Whiskers.

There will be a private graveside service for the family with Pastor Mike Jackson officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing.
