Sara Jane Miller

Sara Jane Miller, 78, died on November 13, 2014. She was born on November 22, 1935, in Mineola, New York to George and Martha Kennedy. She was a dedicated and founding member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, and a teacher for 29 years in Falkville, in Morgan County. She also volunteered for many agencies that served her community.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha; her husband of fifty years, Hank; and her son, Matt.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Linda S. Miller, of Decatur; her sister, Marcie Ann Kennedy, of New Hampshire; and her sons Skip Weinbel, of Idaho and George Weinbel, of Florida; her sister-in-law, Evelyn Ribaudo, of New York; and her children, Marilyn Davis, of Virginia and Jim Ribaudo, of New York; her cousins Keith (Janet) Moyer, of Connecticut, Gayle Coffman (Dave), of Florida, and Carl Moyer, of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Natasha and Kennedy Miller, of Decatur, Alabama; and three step-grandchildren, Laryn, Olivia and Maggie Williams, of Northport, Alabama.

The memorial service will be Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Episcopal, at 3809 Spring Avenue SW, with visitation one hour before the service. The Reverend David Dill with the Reverend Susan Sloan assisting and officiating the interment of ashes in the church garden, which will immediately follow the service. A reception and celebration will follow in the parish hall.
