Scott E. Carrier, 49, of Florence, Alabama passed away at his home on November 18, 2008.
The graveside funeral service will be Thursday morning at 11:00 at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Rev. Matt Fowler and Bill Newman will officiate. The family will speak with friends following the service.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Beatrice Carrier, and a sister, Terri Tisdale of Mobile.
He was saved by faith in Jesus Christ and worshipped the Lord with his church family at Grace Life Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
He served with honor as a member of the Florence City Council from District 2 from 2004-2008. Scott was passionate about the City of Florence, its future, and its citizens.
Scott leaves behind his wife, Karla; daughter Halie Mott (Matthew), Mobile, Alabama and a grandson Josh, Mobile, Alabama; and a sister Carol McDonald (Mack) of Reddick, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Terry McGregor, Mark Sandlin, Jimmy "Red" Carbine, Tommy Garrison, Brad Crawford, and Shawn Farneman.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Scott E. Carrier Political Science Scholarship Fund, in care of the UNA Foundation, UNA box 5113, Florence, Alabama 35632.
