Ms. Shelia Ann Marks, age 60, of Florence died Monday, November 24, 2008 at ECM Hospital from prolonged illiness.
Visitation will be Wednesday November 26 at 11:00 a.m. and the service will be at 12:00 p.m. at Elkins Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Sid Fulford, Kenny Barfield and Jeff Eddie. Burial will be at Florence City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends after the burial at the cemetery.
Ms. Marks was a native of Florence and a member of the church of Christ. Shelia was a state employee. She retired from North Alabama Skill Center. She was preceded in death by her father Douglas T. Marks.
She is survived by her mother Mildred Marks, brothers, Mike Marks [Donna] and Chuck Marks [Kim]. Six nephews and one niece, Hunter, Houston, Harrison, Hayden, , Hope, Heath and Holden Marks. She loved them dearly.
Pallbearers are Roger Taylor, Chris Ticer, Arnold Ticer, H.L. Pitman, Mike Pongetti and Matthew McGowan. Honorary pallbearers, Raford Ticer, Jim Cook, Danny Killen and Mike McGowan.
In lieu of flowers Shelia requested memorials be sent to Safeplace of Florence.
