Shelby Jean Watson Garrett, 80, of Florence passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Florence Nursing Home and Rehab as a result of dementia and stroke. Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at Elkins Funeral Home in Florence. There will be a visitation Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Woodlawn Church of Christ services will follow at 2:00pm. Matt Heupal will officiate. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Jimbo and Lelia Watson, and her sister, Dorthy Lee Skipworth.

She is survived by her husband, Eddie Garrett; daughter, Elethia Garrett; son James Garrett (Sonia); grandchildren, Kennedy, Harley, and Hank; brother, J.Almon Watson (Frances); and Niece, Karen Parker (Glenn).

Mrs. Garrett was a member of the Woodlawn Church of Christ and a Graduate of Lauderdale County High school.
