Shirley C. Benitez, 71, of Killen, Alabama was called home after her 12 year fight with cancer. Shirley loved to read and worked part time at the Killen Book Store in Killen, Alabama. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward Benitez; brother, Carl Wayne Pruett (Dorothy) of Taylor, Michigan; nephews, Neal Pruett (Tina) and their daughter, Delia and Ken Pruett (Robin) and their three children, Destiny, Tyler, and Draken of Allen Park, Michigan. Shirley''s final resting place will be with her mother and father at Michigan Memorial Park in New Boston, Michigan.
