Stuart Newton Shelton Bradenton, Florida His life will be celebrated with a private family graveside service on Tuesday, November 20, 2012, at Burningtree Memorial Gardens with Phillip Hines officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Stuart Shelton, 76, died Friday, November 16, 2012, at 8:45 a.m. at The Tidewell Hospice House, 34th Street, Bradenton, Florida. Stuart was born March 21, 1936, in Huntington, West Virginia to George Washington Shelton and Thelma Sloane Shelton. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma; father, George; brother, Raymond Green; and son, Gregory Stuart Shelton. Stuart loved the Lord and was very involved in helping and encouraging his brothers and sisters in Christ at Midway Church of Christ in Bradenton, Florida as well as his neighbors and friends at The Bayshore Condomi-niums in Bradenton. Before Parkinson's took away his strength, he was an avid marathan runner and has many trophies to celebrate his accomplishments. Stuart had a wonderful singing voice and loved to sing to his wife, Phyllis, the many songs that he had written for her. Stuart is leaving behind a wonderful legacy in his large family. His family includes his wife, Phyllis Shelton; daughter, Lezlie Shelton Lanza (Vince Lanza); six sons, Stephen Matthew Shelton (Elizabeth Rose Shelton), Gregory Stuart Shelton, George Mitchell Shelton, Timothy Paul Shelton, David Anthony Shelton (Cindy Shelton), Daniel Adam Shelton (Amy Shelton); 17 grand-children, Sammy Lanza, Jacob Lanza, Savannah Lanza, Jessica Shelton Hays, Amanda Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Matthew Shelton, Ashley Shelton Reed, Laura Shelton, Grayson Shelton, Isaac Shelton, Rebecca Shelton Turner, Sarah Shelton Garrison, Adam Shelton, Landon Shelton, Dillon Shelton, and Gordon Shelton; four great-grand-children, Ashton Shelton, Lucas Shelton, Avrie Turner and Addision Hays; and two nephews, Michael Shelton and George Allen Green, both of Huntington, West Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Stuart Shelton to The Tidewell Hospice House, 2504 34th Avenue West, Braden-ton, Florida 34205.
