Funeral for Steven Gregory Shafer, 53, of Decatur will be Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Dr. David Stancil officiating.
Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Shafer, who died Thursday, July 22, 2010, was born Feb. 17, 1957, in Morgan County, to Eugene and Juanita Hooper Shafer. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one sister, Ann Bathew (Richard), Huntsville; two nephews, Noah and Aiden Bathew; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Richard Bathew, Mike Hudson, Tim Hudson, Tim Smith, Steve Skinner and Ralph Brooks.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or Hospice of the Valley
