Edward Stuart Schulman, age 56, of Florence, died Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at his home following a lengthy illness.

Stuart was born with a great giving and helping spirit. He was always concerned about others and their welfare in every stage of his life. Beginning at age eight, with a backyard party to help those with Muscular Dystrophy, his humanitarian thoughts and efforts for others continued regardless of race, or religion, or station in life. He had many, many friends.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Temple B'nai Israel. Rabbi Nancy Tunic will officiate.

Stuart is survived by his mother, Jean Schulman, of Florence; and a brother, Alan

Schulman and wife, Bonita, of Nashville.
