Sue Cunningham Thomas, 95, died Sunday, September 6, 2009, after a brief illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Florence with Rev Gary Formby officiating on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 11 a,m, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Center Star on May 6, 1914. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thomas; parents, Turner Goodloe Rutland and Benjamin Weakly Cunningham; sisters, Beth Kennedy and Louise Stewart and brothers, Rutland Weakley and Jonathan Cunningham. She is survived by her son, Richard Thomas; daughter, Lane Neill and husband, Charles and two grandchildren, Carolyn and John.
She was active in First United Methodist Church of Florence and United Methodist Women. She also was a member of Hypation Club and several bridge clubs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the building fund of First Methodist Church.
