Anna Suzanne Thorne Mace, 40, passed away at her home June 23, 2010, after an extended illness. Suzanne is survived by her husband, John T. Mace; her children, Alyson Mace and Andrew Mace; her mother, Susan Darling (George); her brother, Charles Larry Thorne Jr. (Carol); and stepsister, Natalie Paul (Robert). She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Larry Thorne Sr. Suzanne was a graduate of Mars Hill Bible School and earned her B.S. in nursing at the University of North Alabama. She was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ. The family thanks those who have prayed and sent cards and flowers. Also, they appreciate all her friends and professional caregivers through the years. Special thanks go to her oncologist, Dr. Lisa Larson in Birmingham, and to Hospice of the Shoals. Suzanne herself was once an R.N. for Hospice of the Shoals. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Cross Point Church of Christ.
