Talmadge Wade Layton, 85, of Decatur, passed away peacefully at his home on March 17, 2016.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. with visitation at 1 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Naomie Weaver Layton; brother, Loyd Layton; daughter, Belinda Thurman; son-in-law, Kerry Beshears.
Mr. Layton is survived by his wife of 68 years, Martha Anderson Layton; daughters, Marsha Beshears and Tammy May (Paul); sons, Gary Layton and Audie Layton (Sharon); sisters, Mary Scruggs and Sarah Hudson; grandchildren, Mica Widell (Eric), Christy Stover (Brent), Bradley Stone, Katie Dunnivant (William), Makenzie Connor, Tara May, Heather Colley (Ryan), and Phillip May (Vera); great-grandchildren, Erica Widell, Caroline Widell, Cole Houser, Ethan King, Quincy Taylor Jr., Camden Miller, Lucas Colley, Parker Stone, Jasmine Haas, and Ella May.
Mr. Layton served in the Army and was retired from the United States Air Force.
Pallbearers will be William Dunnivant, Eric Widell, Brent Stover, Ryan Colley, Phillip May, and John Entrekin. Honorary pallbearers; Myron Melton "Tallman", Joey Gray, and Tyler Brown.
