Thalia Bradley Chambers, 96, died Sunday July 17, 2016 at home in Florence after an extended illness.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 10-11 AM at Elkins Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Greenview Memorial Park with Sam Hardie and David Rushlow officiating. Pallbearers will be deacons of First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Chambers was preceded in death by husband of 57 years, Noah Bonard Chambers; parents, Leon Carver Bradley and Nora Liles Bradley; half sister, Gladys Bradley Richards.

Mrs. Chambers is survived by her brother-in-law, George P. Chambers (Betty); sister-in-law, Ruth Muse Chambers; nieces, Thalia Gibson (Harold) and Judith Melicks; nephews, Cliff Chambers, Martin Chambers, David Chambers (Gloria), Mark Chambers, and Joel Chambers; numerous great nieces and nephews; cousins, Tommie Liles, Bobby Melvin, and Dr. Wayne Melvin.

Mrs. Chambers was a lifelong resident of Florence. She was a member of Florence United Methodist Church since age 10. She graduated from Coffee High School, began employment at Negley Hotel, then Pittsburg Plate Glass later retiring from T.V.A. She was active in community Pilot Club, Extention Homemakers Club, ECM and Safe Place Volunteer.

The family thanks Dr. Webb and staff of Hospice of the Shoals especially Lisa Chandler, Debbie Collum, Michelle Cooper. Special thanks to Wanda Lentz, Lisa Chandler and Denella Denson for loving care and assistance during her last years at home.
