Obituary

Mrs. Thelma E. Phillips Pugh died December 11, 2011 at NHC, Moulton, Alabama. She was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on November 2, 1917 to John C. and Ella Scott Phillips. Visitation will be at Elkins East Chapel from 12-2 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2011, with services following at 2 p.m. with Rev. Todd Evans officiating. Burial will be at Dement Cemetery in Limestone County. Mrs. Pugh was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Ella Pugh, husband, Carroll (Ted), all of her siblings and one great grandson, Matthew Pugh. Mrs. Pugh grew up in Killen, Alabama and attended LCHS. She later married Ted Pugh and moved to Decatur, Alabama. There she worked at Goodyear Mill for 32 years. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Decatur. Mrs. Pugh is survived by a daughter, Geraldine Hartzog; son, John W. Pugh (Shirley); grandsons, Byron Pugh (Jennifer) and Darren Hartzog (Ginger); granddaughter, Dana Griggs (Winfred); great grandson, John Vernon Griggs; great granddaughter, Abigail Pugh; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation for the love and care given to her by the 2nd floor staff at NHC in Moulton.
