Funeral for Thomas J. Atkins, 71, of Hillsboro, will be on Monday, December 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Moulton Baptist Church. Dr. Darryl Wood will be officiating with Elliott's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Vistiation will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Atkins retired from the U.S. Air Force and G.E. He was a member of Moulton Baptist Church.
Mr. Atkins died on Friday, December 21, 2012. He was born on April 5, 1941, in Priceville to Owner J. and Emma Atkins. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marvin, Bill, and Johnny Atkins; and his first wife, Linda Atkins.
He is survived by his wife, Claudia; three sons, Matthew (Cathy), Allen, and Timothy; stepsons, Ronnie (Rose) Ogle and Chad (Staci) Ogle; stepdaughters, Barbara Hamby and Kim (Charlie) Waldrep; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Bobby Joe (Molly) Atkins, J.D. (Arelia) Atkins, and Donald (Sharron) Atkins; and sister Janet (Gilbert) Parker.
