Thomas E. Barnes, 77, of Rogersville died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at his residence.
Visitation will be Friday, November 27, 2015, from 12-2 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel with Alton Garrison officiating. Burial will be at Civitan Cemetery.
Mr. Barnes was retired from TVA as a pipe-fitter. He was a deacon at Franklin Primitive Baptist Church and member of Blue Water Primitive Baptist Church. He enjoyed playing music.
Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Dorothy Barnes; daughter, Sherry Deak; granddaughter, Johannah Barnes; son-in-law, Sammy Beard; parents, Fount and Frieda Marie Barnes; brother, Fount Barnes, Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Clayton Heathcock and William Petty.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his wife, Linda Barnes; daughter, Donna Beard; son, Barry Barnes; seven grandchildren, Joe Deak (Heather), Jason Deak, Stacie Belew, Jessica Barnes, Jacob Barnes, Ivana Beard, and Jessica Eady; ten great-grandchildren, Katy Deak, Myia Deak, Haleigh Jones, Azleigh Belew, Harper Belew, Addison Belew, Jazmine Peden, Christian Beard, Tatum Eady, and Megan Priest; two sisters, Suzy Heathcock and Girline Petty; three brothers, Ed Barnes, Lee Barnes (Gwen), and Jesse Barnes (Brenda); a host of friends to many to name.
Pallbearers will be Jason Deak, Joe Deak, Toby Mewbourn, Jacob Barnes, Eric Craig, and Bobby Tate.
