Thomas Heston Blanton, age 69, of Florence died on Sunday September 28, 2008.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 30, 2008 from 6 pm until 8 pm at Elkins Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday October 1, 2008 at 10 am in the funeral home chapel. His friend, Dr. Tom Phillips, will be officiating. Burial will follow in Walston Cemetery.
Mr. Blanton served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1950''s. He has owned and operated several successful businesses. Mr. Blanton retired in the late 1990''s as the result of a debilitating illness. Tom was one of 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; his children, Brenda Bowser and husband Bob, Judy Brewer and husband Jerry, and Britt Blanton and wife Brandy; his grandchildren, Clay Brewer, Fowler Blanton, and Scout Blanton; his sisters, Hazel Embry and Mary Baker; and his sister-in-law, Vickie Scarbrough.
The family would like to thank Dr. Felix Morris for his wonderful care, as well as his sense of humor.
