Tommy "Big Don" Barnett, 46, of Florence, died Thursday January 21, 2010. Visitation will be Saturday January 23, 2010, from 6 - 9 PM at Elkins funeral home Florence. The service will be Sunday January 24, 2010 at 3 PM in the funeral home chapel with Brother Jack Jones and Kevin Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Big Don was owner and operator of XVW, was a 1982 graduate of Bradshaw High School where he was active in wrestling and football, and an avid fan and impersonator of the Blues Brothers.
He was preceded in death by his father; Billy L. Barnett. Survivors include his children: Abby Barnett of Waterloo, sons: Joshua Barnett of Huntsville and Donavon Barnett of Waterloo: Mother; Pauline Young Barnett; Brother; Tony Barnett and wife Cindy of Killen; Grandchild; Kaden Benson; Nephews: Brian and Chase Barnett.
Pallbearers will include Rickie Hendrix, Josh Johnston, Michael Carmack, Bruce "Spidar" Boodrow, Justin Benson, Will "Blane Evans" Poague, Chris "Big Spade" Parker, Jonathan Word, Roger Fountain, Chase Barnett, Tony Barnett, Kevin "Enigma" Willis. Honorary Bearers will include anyone associated with NW Alabama Wrestling The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the ICU staff of ECM Hospital, to Dr. Holden and the nursing staff.
