.U.G. Wilson passed away October 2, 2025 at El Reposo in Florence, AL. He was born in Tulsa, OK and was a graduate of Webster High School in Tulsa. He served 4 years in the Air Force and was stationed 3 years at Foster Air Force Base in Victoria, TX. Mr. Wilson was retired from Tennessee Valley Authority.  He was a lifelong amateur radio operator, call sign WB4EWL.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Frances L. Wilson, parents, Loal C. and R. Lorayne Wilson, and brother, Loal Junior Wilson.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his sons, Michael Wilson (Cindy), Wesley Wilson (Martha), and Blake Wilson (Sandy); grandchildren, U. G. Wilson, Meagan Wilson, Ben Wilson, Elizabeth Malavathu, Rachel Wilson, Olivia Wilson, and Addison Conrad; great-grandchildren, Fox Wilson, Leif Wilson, Evie Wilson, Coen Wilson, Howard Malavathu, and Aavya Malavathu.

UG loved his family and friends, fishing, traveling and black jellybeans.  Having survived diphtheria and polio in his youth, that tenacious spirit stayed with him throughout his long life allowing him to accomplish anything he set his mind to.  He was a truly remarkable person.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 10:00 with the funeral to follow at 11:00 at Elkins Funeral Homes in Florence, AL.
