Vada Mae Stansell's Obituary
Mrs. Vada Mae Stansell, 96, a former resident of Florence, passed away in Huntsville on Wednesday, May 16, 2012.
The visitation will begin Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Herschel McFarlen officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Stansell was born in Phil Campbell and was the last living sibling of nine. She and her husband Ottie, who passed away in 2002, were members of Highland Baptist Church. She had enjoyed quilting and vegetable and flower gardening.
She is survived by a daughter Louise Bergeler and husband Klaus of Huntsville; a son Jim Stansell and wife Kay of Ackworth, GA; grandchildren Karin Bergeler Joye of Huntsville, Brian Bergeler and wife April of Denver, CO, Zack Stansell and wife Laura of Knoxville, TN, and Kristin Stansell of Ackworth, GA; four great-grandchildren Chris Joye, Jessica Joye, Ben Stansell and Katie Stansell; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Zack Stansell, Brian Bergeler, Chris Joye and Mike Ford.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Association of Late Deafened Adults, 8038 MacIntosh Lane, Suite 2, Rockford, IL 61107 or the charity of your choice.
