Graveside service for Velma Mae "Pugg" Meadows, 83, of Hartselle will be Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur with Brother Charles Littrell officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.
Mrs. Meadows, who died Friday, March 23, 2012, was born June 18, 1928, in Blount County to William E. Jenkins and Oolooloo Hadley Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Meadows Sr.; and one granddaughter, Jessica Meadows.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Christopher (Bob); three sons, Phill Meadows (Teresa), Jim Meadows (Sandra) and Nick Meadows; eight grandchildren, Farrah and Lance Christopher, Trai (Kristen), Tyde (Kelly) and Tron (Kalie) Meadows, Derrick (Tabatha), Michael and Laura Meadows; five great-grandchildren, Audrey, Jace, Kate, Zaylee and Jessa, all of Hartselle; and Elizabeth Chunn, whom she loved like a daughter.
