Vera Cartee
Ocala, Fla.
Vera Cartee of Ocala, Fla. passed away at 5 p.m. on October 14, 2010, at Palm Garden of Ocala. Precededing her in death was her husband, Coy, one daughter, and a step-son. Vera is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, of Fla., one daughter and son-in-law, of Va.; two sons and two daughters-in-law, of Ala.; a brother, sister-in-law, one niece and two nephews, of Mont. She had 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Vera's hobby was quilting. She made a quilt for each child and many or her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very involved in church and enjoyed Southern gospel music. She was an active christian participating in services held at Palm Garden. Vera spent her life in service to others as a nurse in Alabama and volunteered with social services. She was much loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.
Funeral for Mrs. Cartee will be Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at 2 p.m. at
Elliott Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chalybeate Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to American Stroke Association , a division of American Heart Association . Elliott-Brown Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
