Virginia Catherine "Ginny" Hodgins Palmer, 62 of Florence, AL passed away on Monday, January 7, 2019.  She was a graduate of Bradshaw High School and the University of North Alabama and was a member of First Christian Church.

Ginny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  Known as "Nanny" to the grandchildren, she was patient, artistic and nurturing.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Florence City Cemetery with Rev. Carl Gebhardt officiating.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Catherine Hodgins.

Survivors include her husband, Robert D Palmer; son, Wes Fraizer (Laura Kate); daughter, Rachel Fraizer Motes; grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Emma Jones; great-grandchildren, Brently and Annalie Contreras and David Lumbreras.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brooke Vanderford and the staff of Compassus Hospice for their loving care for Ginny, and to the family, neighbors and friends who cared for her and her family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Children's Hospital of Alabama.
