Obituary

Virginia Christine Stutts, age 79, a well respected member of the Center Star community, passed away on Friday December 12, 2008 at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 15, 2008 at 1 pm at First Baptist Church in Center Star with Bro. Ronny Jones and Bro Bobby Walton officiating. Mrs. Stutts will lie in state from 12 pm until funeral time. Burial will follow at Center Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday December 14, 2008 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Elkins East Chapel.
Mrs. Stutts was a charter member of the First Baptist Church in Center Star where she served in the W.M.U., and as a Sunday School teacher. She was always there to greet new people and was a faithful servant until her illness overtook her. Mrs. Stutts loved canning fresh garden vegetables and sewing. She was a great cook and was well known for her biscuits, yeast rolls, and fried potatoes.
Mrs. Stutts was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Stutts, her brothers, Garth and Theron "Jit" Berry, and her parents Curt and Annie Bell Berry.
Mrs. Stutts is survived by her daughters, Pam Davis(Gary), Jennifer Dickerson, and Cynthia Gail Wallace, all of Killen; her brothers, Calvin Berry(Nita) of Town Creek, and Dal Berry(Peggy) of Dallas, TX; her grandchildren, Todd Davis(Elisabeth) of Alabaster, Adam Davis of Killen, Courtney Guasti(Abby) of Madison, Kayla Oldham, of Killen, and Rainey Wallace of Killen; and her great grandchild, Caroline Davis.
Pallbearers will be Don Berry, Marty Berry, Windell Hutcheson, Ken Johnson, Steve Oliver, and Don Odom. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hughes, Gene Fulks, Malcolm Briley, and other members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Danny McFall for the care given to their mother throughout the years.
