Vivian Foster Clark, affectionately known as "Meemaw" by her children and grandchildren, joined her Lord and Savior at the age of 83 on February 9, 2013. Vivian was born in Waterloo, Alabama, and returned to Killen after 23 years of devoted support to her husband of 59 years, Denzel LeJeune Clark, during his distinguished military service. Vivian was chosen Miss Florence State Teacher''s College during her attendance there. Her beauty shone from within by her loving manner and demeanor with her family and everyone she met.
As written in her Bible, she asks us to "celebrate my Homecoming in a glorious manner - sing happy songs. I am a Christian and maybe someone or many will come to a personal relationship with Jesus as a result of my having lived. That is my prayer!".
Vivian is survived by her loving husband, Denzel, her three children, Karen Clark Hendon, and husband Jerry, of Canyon Lake, Texas, Denzel LeJeune Clark, Jr., and wife Sonja, of Mandeville, Louisiana, and Malana Clark Bryant of Birmingham, Alabama. Vivian also leaves behind six grandchildren, Robert Hendon, Denzel LeJeune Clark, III (Trey), Brittany Clark Hubert, and husband AJ, Tyler Charles Clark, Hunter Clark Byrant and Hannah Grace Bryant, all of whom were the delight of her heart.
Visitation will be held at Elkins Funeral Home of Florence on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. with funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to her church, New Beginnings Church, 855 Florence Boulevard, Florence, Alabama 35630.
