Walter Glenn Murphy's Obituary
Walter Glenn Murphy III, 53, of Florence died Monday, September 11, 2017, at Lawrence Medical Center in Moulton.
Glenn was a member of Oakland Methodist Church, a graduate of Coffee High School, attended Muscle Shoals State Technical College and was employed with the City of Florence until recently.
A graveside memorial service will be Friday, 09-15-2017, at 2 PM at Walston Cemetery in Oakland with Rev. Daniel Gilchrist officiating. Elkins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernie and Almera Odom and grandfather, Walter Glenn Murphy, Sr., and uncle, Rick Murphy.
Glenn is survived by his parents, Walter, Jr. and Martha Murphy; sister, Erin Gunn (David); grandmother, Wanda Rice Murphy; nephews, Drew and Carter Pullen; aunts, Janis Lenderman, Laura Taylor (Velson) and Mary Murphy; uncle, Stephen Murphy; several cousins; his dog, "Little Bit."
Memorials may be made to First Methodist Church Building Fund or the Florence Animal Shelter.
