Wanda Leigh (Johnson) Pearson, age 68, of Tuscumbia passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Shoals Hospital after a sudden illness.
Funeral services for Wanda Pearson will be Saturday morning, January 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Elkins East Chapel, Center Star. Daniel Gaines of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in Center Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She was born and raised in Lauderdale County Al. and was raised in the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.O. and Inez Johnson; brothers, Robert and Lendon Johnson; sister, Betty Harrison.
Wanda leaves her loving husband of 29 years, Arvis Pearson; children, Mike Gooch (Peggy) of Tuscumbia, Mark Gooch (Myra), Tuscumbia, Marsha Landsell (Billy),Tuscumbia, Marty Gooch (Lyda), Carlsbad, New Mexico, Michelle Johns, Center Star; grandchildren, Christy Brewer, Jacob Johns, Jessica Latham, Megan Gooch, B.J. Lansdell, Zack Johns, Nick Latham, Brock Gooch, Cody Gooch, Nychole Gooch, Chase Johns; great-grandchildren, Kandace Brewer, Gabe Gooch, LaDaisy Jackson, A''Prinzes Gooch; brother, Neal Johnson (Leona), Center Star; sister, her twin, Vonda Thompson, Center Star; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Wanda''s grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Jacob, Zack and Chase Johns, Brock Gooch, Nick Latham and B.J. Lansdell; Honorary pallbearers, Dr. Felix Morris.
