William Whitney "Bill" Price, age 72, of Florence passed away on Monday August 25, 2008 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Price will be on Wednesday August 27, 2008 at 4 pm at Elkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Gardens. Bro. Miles Stutts will be officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 26, 2008 from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Price is preceded in death by his parents, William "Pedro" and Mary E. Price, and one sister, Barbara Taylor. He was retired from the Lauderdale Co. Sheriff''s Department. Mr. Price loved to go fishing and camping. He loved to spend time with his boys and his grandsons.
Mr. Price is survived by one daughter, Susan Cottrell and husband Douglas of Florence; two sons, William Carl Price and wife Jeanette, and Lance Whitney Price and wife Darla, both of Florence; three grandchildren, Mendy Hale and husband Daniel of Burlington, NC., Jackson Price of Florence, and Nicholas Cottrell of Decatur; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Daniel and Trent Michael Hale of Burlington, NC.; and his special friend Marie Martin of Florence.
Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Mark Newman, Phillip Nelson, Mark Grisham, Nicholas Cottrell, and Terry Fowler. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Wallace, Billy McIntyre, John Cook, and James Abston.
Bill''s children would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to ECM CCU and 3rd floor RN''s Tina and Bryan, Dr. Ricky Irons, Dr. William Heaton, and Dr. Edsel Holden.
Expressions of sympathy may also be made in loving memory of Bill Price to the local American Heart Association.
