Funeral for William Roy "Bill" Thrasher, 54 of Decatur will be Sunday, April, 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Ridout's Brown-Service with Gary Patton officiating. Burial will be at Forrest Chapel Cemetery near Hartselle. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Bill died Thursday, April 23, 2009, at home. He was born May 12, 1954, in Hartselle, the fourth of four sons born to Newton Columbus and Betty Inez (Collier) Thrasher. He resided in Hartselle until high school then moved to Decatur where he graduated from Austin High School. Bill enjoyed all sports but was an avid Alabama football and Braves baseball fan. He enjoyed his collec-ion of action figures which numbers in the hundreds. He attended Somerville Road Church of Christ. Bill is survived by three brothers, Thomas N. (Jerretta) Thrasher, Daniel L. (Pam) Thrasher, both of Decatur and David L. (Theresa) Thrasher of Hartselle. He is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, Thomas N. (Quinta) Thrasher, Jr., Daniel (Christina) Thrasher, Benjamin Thrasher, Leah (Nick) Collier, Christopher D. (Barbara) Thrasher, Jonathan K. Thrasher, Anna E. Thrasher and Sarah C. Thrasher; and by six grandnieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his parents and grandparents. Pallbearers will be nephews, Tommy Thrasher, of Madison, Daniel Thrasher and Ben Thrasher, of Decatur, Jon Thrasher, of Huntsville, Chris Thrasher of Nashville, and grand-nephew, Andrew Thrasher, of Madison.
