William Johnny Blocker, age 69, of Florence, passed away on Thursday December 31, 2009 at ECM Hospital.
Funeral services will be on Sunday January 3, 2010 at 3 pm in the chapel of Elkins Funeral Home in Florence. Fred Rowden will officiate. Entombment will follow at Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 3, 2010 from 1 pm until 3 pm at the funeral home.
Mr. Blocker is a graduate of Geneva High School. He is a retired truck driver from Wiley Sanders Truck Lines. Mr. Blocker is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Fransis Blocker; his father, Edmon Johnny Blocker; and his grandson Johnathan Neil Hamilton.
Mr. Blocker is survived by his daughters, Renee Richardson and husband Rich, and Rhonda Fletcher and husband Dean, both of Toney, AL; his sons, Randall Blocker of Moulton, AL, and Rick Blocker and wife Tracy of Anderson, AL; his mother, Edna Bea Blocker of Dothan, AL; his sister, Jean Spikes of Dothan, AL; his brother, Devon Blocker of Tacoma, WA; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Beau Dunavant, Brandon Richardson, Bradley Conley, Justin Vayda, Sam Davis, Brian Whitten, Rick Blocker, Randy Blocker, Rich Richardson, Dean Fletcher, Joshua Hamilton, Nic Blocker, and Matt Blocker.
