William C. "Bones" Watkins, 86, of Florence died Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his residence.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017, 11 AM to 1 PM at Elkins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM in the Chapel with Bro. Kenny Barfield officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Watkins served in the National Guard and was a Korean Conflict veteran. He retired from the Florence Fire Department. He loved working on cars, going to auctions, and was an avid Alabama Football fan.

Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Mae Watkins; son, Larry J. Watkins; two brothers, Tom Watkins and Neal Watkins; sister, Virginia Marks.

Mr. Watkins is survived by his son, Wayne Watkins (Pam); grandchildren, Dustin Watkins (Mallory), Ridge Watkins, Brooke Watkins, Wesley Watkins (Sarah), and Jonathon Watkins; great-grandchildren, Blaythe Watkins and Olivia Watkins; sister, Margie Willett; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Watkins, Ridge Watkins, Wesley Watkins, Jonathon Watkins, Morris Willett, and Leon Marks. Honorary pallbearers will be Florence Fire Department.
