Funeral for William "Bill" Carrell, 83, of Decatur will be Monday, July 19, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve McCurry officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Carrell, who died Saturday, July 17, 2010, at his residence, was born July 1, 1927, in Lawrence County to Otto and Bertha Carrell. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of East End United Methodist Church for over 50 years, and retired from Amoco Chemical in 1982. Mr. Carrell was preceded in death by his son, David Glenn Carrell; and brother, Otto Carrell Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marjorie A. Carrell; two daughters, Janet Jackson and husband, Billy, and Loquetta Aycock and husband, Ricky; one sister, Jean Legg and husband, Kadrick; and three grandchildren, Megan Chapman and husband, Matthew, West Aycock and wife, Lacy, and Labeth Dudley and husband, Brandon.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
