William Joe Cox, 64, of Rogersville died Sunday, February 19, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Cox''s family will receive friends Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 6-8 PM at Elkins East Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 22, 2012, 12 PM at Elkins East Chapel, with Elder Bobby Collins officiating. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery. Mr. Cox was preceded in death by his father James Cox and son Joe Cox, Jr. He is survived by his daughter Sonya Butler and husband Kevin; mother, Thetus Scott Cox; grandchildren Joshua Butler, Jordan Butler, Tasha Butler, and Joseph Cox; sisters Judy Allen and husband Rayford and Cindy McCrary and husband Tony; brothers Earl Cox and Jerry Cox and wife Carol; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Rayford Allen, Tony McCrary, Shannon Allen, Randall Cox, Brian Gasque, and Justin McCrary. Mr. Cox was a 1966 graduate of Lexington High School. He loved hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, playing guitar, and gardening. The family would like to thank all Hospice Doctors and nurses, a special thanks to Cathy Camp, The Cancer Center of the Shoals, and Dr. Aquadro.
