Funeral services for Monty Cross of Guntersville, formerly of Moulton, will be Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 5:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton with Dr. Tommy Whitlow and Rev. Chris Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:30 until 4:45 prior to the service.
Mr. Cross, who died on his birthday, September 2nd was born in 1958 in Moulton to Billie Nell Montgomery Cross and Cleatus Cross. He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by the love of his life, wife Janet Bender Cross, daughter, Jeanne Kay Cross, son Ethan Cross and fiancee Katie Tenney, his mother and his sister, Pam Cross.
Mr. Cross was a graduate of Lawrence County High School and Auburn University. He was employed by Delphi for 26 years and currently by Inteva Products in Gadsden.
He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Moulton and currently attended First Baptist Church in Albertville where he was an active choir member. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He loved gospel music and Auburn football.
Pallbearers will be David Vinson, Kinn Webb, Lynn Stockton, Brent White, Gerry Moses, Jerry Armor, John Cross, Keith Cross, John Montgomery and Mark Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gideons International to support worldwide Bible distribution.
