William Roy Ezell
Roy Ezell, 94, of Killen died Sunday at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Care Facility. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at Killen Church of Christ from 6-9PM. Funeral services will be at 11AM, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Killen Church of Christ, with Jerry Mitchell and Jay Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Paul Swindle officiating. Mr. Ezell served in the US Army for 3 ½ years during WWII. He was involved in many Pacific Campaigns and received a Bronze Star with Valor; one other Bronze Star and 2 Purple Hearts. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11 for 65 years. He served as a deacon at Killen Church of Christ and retired from TVA. Mr. Ezell was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Dossie Ezell; four sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Mitchell (Jerry) and Peggy White (Warren); four grandchildren, Terri Brown (Terry), Jay Mitchell (Julie), Miranda Miller, and Marcie Miller; four great-grandchildren, Will Brown, Allie Mitchell, Erika Mitchell, and Bo Mitchell. Pallbearers will be Pud Harrison, Doyle McDonald, Ross Hargett, Earl Tank, Ray Barger, Tim Ashley, and Bill Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Men''s Bible Class of Killen Church of Christ, Holland Greer, and Manson Behel. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Station 6 at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Killen Church of Christ for disaster relief for the tornado victims. You are invited to sign the on-line guest registry at www.elkinsfh.com.
