Funeral for William "Bill" Gene Hamilton, 79, of Trinity will be Saturday, February 22, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. at Caddo Congregational Church with Doug Moody officiating and Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Hamilton, who died Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 10, 1934, in Lawrence County to Daniel W. Hamilton and Myrtle Hamilton. He retired from Automatic Screw at age 75 with 38 years of service. He was a deacon and trustee at Caddo Church and loved to sing in the choir.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba Lowery Hamilton; two sons, Phillip Hamilton and wife, Peggy, and Keith Hamilton and wife, Terri; one daughter, Gwen Rhodes and husband, Felton; seven grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Hamilton; and three sisters, Irene Shaneyfelt, Geraldine Shaw and Faye Aday.
