William "Bill" Richard Poppie age 60 of Killen passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Elkins East Chapel from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. Services to follow in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Henry Melton officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery.
Bill is survived by his wife of 26 years, Teresa Poppie; two daughters, Emma Poppie Clemons and Alice Hill; son, Andy Hill and wife Julie; his parents: father, Richard L. Poppie of Hartland , WI and Mother, Bernadine A. (Kreidler) Poppie of Hartford, WI; sister, Annette Elftman (Chuck); two brothers, Ron Poppie (Jennifer) and Patrick Poppie; grandchildren, Marisa, Eli and Lillianna; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Bill was an avid reader and loved joking around. To know him was to understand his unique humor. He was elected the shop Stewart of his Union. He had recently returned to his love of cycling.
