Funeral for William Jauris "Jerry" Simmons, 72, of Moulton will be Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Donny Amos officiating. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Simmons, who died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton, was born July 8, 1937, in Orlando, Fla., to William Jennings Simmons and Mattie Lou Grimes Simmons. He was a reservist in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired from Merita Bakery in Orlando, Fla., in 1999, after 43 years of service. He and his wife moved to Moulton at that time. He was a member of Hillsboro Heights Church of Christ in Moulton. He was fond of fishing. Survivors include his wife, Frances Charlene Simmons; children, Teresa Ogletree and Paula Simmons, both of Brewton, Margie Adair (Tim) of Atlanta, Ga., Janet Carter (Gary Sr.) of Moulton, Debbie Bedsole of Deland, Fla., Lisa Campbell (Bob) of Deltona, Fla., and Zina Christie (Ronnie) of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; brothers, Jimmie Simmons (Gloria) of Tavares, Fla., Charlie Simmons (Susie) of Eustis, Fla., and Larry Simmons (Coleen) and Terry Simmons (Kathy), both of Deland, Fla.; sisters, Ruby Lee Deangelo (Joe) of Orlando, Fla., Glenda Linton (Jerry) of Perry, Fla., and Fay Bird (Steve) of Winter Garden, Fla.; 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Gary Carter Sr., Gary Carter Jr., Gary Carter III, Andrew Carter, Freddie Shirah Sr. and Freddie Shirah Jr.
