Tommy Simpson, age 57, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at his residence.
Services for Mr. Simpson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009, at Elkins East Chapel. William "Lee" Potts will officiate. Burial will follow in Richardson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Tommy was a farmer and a graduate of Colbert County High School. He was in the Army and Army National Guard for six years. Tommy enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Mr. Simpson was preceded by his parents, William Edward Simpson and Sally Alvie Simpson Campbell, and brother, William Buster Simpson.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Simpson; children, Michelle Tucker and husband, Phillip, Jason Simpson, Chris Hicks and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Levi Hicks, Zane Tucker, Harley Tucker, Nathan Simpson, Preston Simpson, Dalton Simpson, Paula Bryant and Ashley Tucker; brothers and sisters, Betty Stewart and husband, Ben, Peggy Potts, James Simpson and wife, Nancy, Kathy Houk and husband, Pete, Ronnie Campbell; sister-in-law, Patricia Ann Simpson; nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Justin Seymour, Mark Tucker, Tyler Boston, Douglas Parker, Ben Stewart and Lewis Seymour; honorary pallbearers are Randy Seymour and Anthony Stewart.
The family would like to thank Tennessee Valley Hospice, Cindy Prestage and the Northwest Alabama Cancer Center for the love and care given to Tommy.
