William Carol Williams, age 79, of Florence passed away on Sunday January 3, 2010 at ECM Hospital.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 1 pm at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ with Bro. Chris Kemp and Bro. Ellis Coats officiating. Mr. Williams will lie in state 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday January 5, 2010 from 6 pm until 9 pm at Elkins Funeral Home, 1535 Hermitage Dr., Florence, AL 35630.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Florence Boulevard Church of Christ. He was a retired Boilermaker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roma Dee Williams; his parents, Edgar and Lena Thompson Williams; his brother, James Williams; and his sisters, Irene Beavers and Pauline Holden.
Mr. Williams is survived by his children, Carrie Smith and husband Steve, Sherry Richardson and husband Don, and Terry Williams and wife Ginger; his brother, Floyd Williams; his sisters, Emogene Richardson and Lib Condra and husband Russell; his brother in law, James Beavers; his grandchildren, Nicki Carson and husband Craig, Ben Morgan and wife Lyndsey, Adam Morgan, Lena Spivey, Kaitlin Smith, T. J. Williams and wife Bobbi, Jami Williams, and Julie Holt; 6 great grandchildren; and Barney, a special poodle who was a loving companion for the past 7 years.
Pallbearers will be T. J. Williams, Adam Morgan, Ben Morgan, Ian Lowery, Gary Jones, and Greg Harper.
Mr. Williams enjoyed his daily fellowship with his Krystal friends and Waffle House buddies.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Mann and to the 6th floor ECM Hospital nursing staff. They would also like to say thanks for all the love and support given to the family by members of the Florence Boulevard Church of Christ.
