Obituary

Willie Mae Bailey, beloved wife and mother, passed away at her home in Lexington on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was eighty-four. Mrs. Bailey was a graduate of Florence State (University of North Alabama) where she received her bachelor and master''s degrees. She was a dedicated teacher of thirty years at Lexington High School and was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2012, 6-9PM at Lexington United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2012, 11AM at Lexington United Methodist Church, with Dr. Tommy Green officiating and assisted by Rev. John Green and Rev. Ken Flower. Interment will be at Pettus Cemetery in Lexington. Pallbearers will be Philip Green, Matthew Green, John Green, Ken Flower, Donald Bailey, and Chris Cameron. Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Roxie Wesson, infant daughter, Susan Leigh Bailey and daughter in law, Linda Bailey. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Orville Bailey; son Don Bailey (Kai Kai); daughters, Sandra Flower (Dean) and Karen Green (Tommy). She had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lexington United Methodist Church Building Fund.
