Funeral for Willie Mae "Bill" Roper, 88, of Hartselle will be Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Ridout''s Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Maples officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Roper, who died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, was born Nov. 3, 1921, in Paris, Texas, to John Henry and Hattie Davidson. She was retired from West Decatur Elementary School. She was a Baptist. She enjoyed sewing throughout her life. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Andy Casey Roper; two sons, Dwight Roper and wife Bonnie and Garland Roper; two sisters, Dolly Dicken and Robbie Reed, both of Paris, Texas; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
