Funeral for Willie T. Williams Jones, 102, of Decatur will be Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenny Baskins officiating and assisted by the Rev. Gerald L. Jones. Burial will be in Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery with a graveside at 1 p.m. Visitation will be this evening from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Mrs. Jones, who died Friday, May 8, 2009, in Louisville, Ky., was born Feb. 9, 1907, to Benton Edward and Lou Willie Williams. She grew up in the Toney community of Madison County. She lived in Decatur from the 1940s until the late 1990s working in the cafeteria at Decatur High School until her retirement in the early 1970s. During her retirement, she baby-sat for many in the Decatur area. She was a longtime member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Jones; her parents, and 12 of her 14 siblings. She is survived by one son, Bobby G. Jones (Linda) of Louisville, Ky.; two grandchildren, Anissa Chapelle (Cody) of Louisville and Gerald Jones (Joy) of Rogersville, Tenn.; five great-grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Williams (Dorothy) of the Tony community; and many nieces and nephews.
